According to TV3, Poulsen has agreed on a deal with Barcelona. Barca must now convince sevilla to sell, something that might not be so difficult since Poulsen's on his last year of contract and This summer might be the last chance to get some money for him.
Poulsen would be great to take Edmilson's place in the squad and fight for a starting position with Yaya. If he comes cheap (less than 10), I'll be happy

The technical secretariat FC Barcelona works with the assumption that Edmílson not continue next season in the team and that the future of Rafa Marquez are not clear. Therefore, one of the goals is to strengthen the team clocking half defensive center, a second Yayá Touré, so that we understand.
And the great candidate to fill this square is Christian Poulsen. The player of Seville is the favorite for the technicians club. And so much so that TV3 has announced that Barça has already closed an agreement with the player. This, at first, was the easy part. Now, however, would be the hardest part, negotiating with Jose Maria del Nido, the president of Seville.
The good news is that for Barça Poulsen contract ends in June 2009, so the Seville or sell now or the player may go within a year without the club see or one euro. The bad news is that, despite this, it seems that Del Nido is not prepared, at least for entry to negotiate.

Great midfielder. Not only is he a dirty bastard but he's good on the ball. If I remember correctly he had the highest number of successful passes in La Liga in his first season with Sevilla.
If we get him he'd provide great competition for Yaya. Imagine this for tough away games..........

Good cover at dm. Im surprised when he left shalke it was 'only' sevilla that picked him up. Thought one of the big spenders would have gone in for him. However the fact that he has proven he can play in la liga only increases his stock, and i would be more than happy with his signing. Reasonably tall (although he's no yaya)..great tackler, can read the game well and more than aptly covers positions left vacant by his teammates. Hope this rumour is true.
Wouldnt surprise me at all. And good looking on the formation...reminds me of a certain davids/cocu/xavi formation !

Yeah. Now all we need is request that all football matches be postponed while we celebrate our centenary, have a president to promise 3 superstars but end up signing reyes, and we can be just like madrid

great move if we secure him. He will give us the sort of dirty grit that van bommel gave us when he was here. don't really now why we sold him but negotiating with del nido is gonna be tough.
