Agreed. It was absolutely fantastic. The ending (on the train) is superb. It makes you feel happy(ish), but at the same time disturbed about what is going to become of the relationship.
We were discussing this on my forum, and apparently it has been 'dumbed down' for its US release. The subtitles were changed from what were available on the pre-existing releases. I had a look and it does make a REAL difference.

You two need to explain yourselves for watching this disturbing movie. What the hell? I am in shock after 48 minutes, should I keep going on?

Exactly. Its disturbing enough to make you wonder if its really good or just really twisted. But I think it had such powerful undertones and a great, dark atmosphere. Also, the combination of childhood love and the general darkness of the movie just makes it so perfectly creepy.

They are remaking it. Will be out next year. I'm hoping they don't ruin it. Although i can't see Hollywood really doing this right with child actors. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

watched a fairly badly dubbed english version but i like it, and horror is one of my least favourite genres.
I support two teams; Barca and whoever is playing Madrid
