All the transfer news and stuff for Man city can go here

We better make a topic dedicated to them since according to Robinho they are going to win the EPL in two years

So far the people to have rejected city are:

Messi
Raul
Kaka
Iniesta
Cannavaro

Who else?...i've gone blank

But tbh stars will always turn them down, unless they get a starting star if you will.......no big star will want to go there imo

they gotta start small like chelski did and buy very good players so they can make the top 6 in the epl and then buy the super stars. just take what chelski did and use that as your base plan.

You ain't gonna believe what happened to me today.

I was talking to that uni girl i like (on the phone) and a bee got in my jeans.

So here i am talking to this woman i want to impress and i suddenly hear all this buzzing coming from my mid region...and i start to scream like a girl (f**k!) and then she asked "what's going on?!" and i was like trying to find an excuse and i just said "...i accidentally stepped on a snail.."

WHY THE f**k DID I SAY THAT!?! Fucks sake man! She probably thought i'm some real pussy or something (don't say anything Anton)

I agree they can't just jump for the big guys, there a small club in terms of history and terms of everything really, apart from money obviously, there being very naive, they need to assert themselves as atleast a threat for the top 4, not a mid table club, who only will only be able to get to the Uefa cup, if that.

Being rejected by Cannavaro is a blessing in disguise, the old man is too slow for Spain, let alone England

the arabs will want instant results. but no matter how much money the bitters can throw at it, you can't break into the big 4 overnight. ok chelsea did it, but they bought well - and didn't have a clown like sparky steering the ship. mourinho was a far superior tactician and man manager. as has been mentioned, city keep getting knocked back by big names who just don't want to go to eastlands. and who could blame them. this will be an ongoing theme througout the summer.

city need to set their sights a bit lower and the arabs need to be more realistic about the short term. my brother-in-law has been a season ticket holder at city for about 20 years. he says a lot of the hardcore are worried about what is happening to city. it's always been a local club, with honest, working class values. he (and others) fear that this globalisation of city will destroy every foundation that the club has been built on. to a degree, he has a point.

but the fans don't own the club and they do not pay the wages. if the arabs want to revamp the club and chuck out the dead wood, then so be it. but one thing they can't have, and won't have is instant success.

City can't do it Chelsea's way. Chelsea already finished in the top 4 prior the Roman era, and they did have a good team, so they could lure top class players like Veron, Crespo and Mutu(although the former and the latter did flop). City have f**k all to promise, all they can say is, 'Here, we'll give you stupid amounts of money, we're going to buy other big players, and all together you get us into the Champions League and win us trophies'.

if the new owners of City want to make a lasting impression in English football, they should learn everything they can about La Masia and start producing world class English players on the level that we produce. Players who grow up with the club and are more likely to bleed on the pitch than chase after more money down the road.

The thing is City's academy is already one of the best in England. Players like Richards, Hart, Johnson, Sturridge, Ireland to name a few. With extra investment who knows what level it could reach. All the great Englsh talent will no doubt be drowned out by City bringing in expensive foreign players.

At least they are thinking realistically now, aiming for top 6 next season.
