"A dress-rehearsal for the World Cup; a chance to see how the defending World Champions have progressed; an opportunity for continental winners to strut their stuff; and the introduction of global tournament play to the continent of Africa. The 2009 Confederations Cup is key for all of these reasons - and we'll bring the whole thing to you."

spain have named a strong squad to go to the confederations cup and are aiming to win it big. I really wish that ineista was not going so as to rest his injury and pique also.

Spain squad: Iker Casillas (Real Madrid), Jose Reina (Liverpool), Diego Lopez (Villarreal); Raul Albiol (Valencia), Alvaro Arbeloa (Liverpool ), Joan Capdevila (Villarreal), Carlos Marchena (Valencia), Gerard Pique (Barcelona), Carles Puyol (Barcelona), Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid), Xabi Alonso, (Liverpool), Sergi Busquets (Barcelona), Santi Cazorla (Villarreal), Cesc Fabregas (Arsenal), Xavi (Barcelona), Andres Iniesta (Barcelona), David Silva (Valencia), Juan Manuel Mata (Valencia), Albert Riera (Liverpool); Daniel Guiza (Fenerbache), Fernando Llorente (Athletic Bilbao), Fernando Torres (Liverpool), David Villa (Valencia).

You ain't gonna believe what happened to me today.

I was talking to that uni girl i like (on the phone) and a bee got in my jeans.

So here i am talking to this woman i want to impress and i suddenly hear all this buzzing coming from my mid region...and i start to scream like a girl (f**k!) and then she asked "what's going on?!" and i was like trying to find an excuse and i just said "...i accidentally stepped on a snail.."

WHY THE f**k DID I SAY THAT!?! Fucks sake man! She probably thought i'm some real pussy or something (don't say anything Anton)

Iniesta shouldn't risk it but he should at least be on the squad, I want him and Xavi to win every trophy humanly possible.

pique has made the jump and I think is a must start in the CB position of Spain, that was a great buy back from the mancs but FCB as he looks like he will be one of the elite for years to come.

I would like to see Llorente get some minutes ahead of Guiza just to see what he can do against the big boys.

Ramos-Puyol-Pique-Capdivilla

Cesc/Cazorla-Xavi-Xabi-Silva

Villa-Torres

Can't wait to watch them play again. It's just like Barca but in red :)

Or if Puyol doesn't act erratically.

Or Casillas might decide to drop one.

Why do they have this tournament? There's a WC next year and there was a Euro last year. Players need a rest during the summer, FIFA are stupid. Fair enough having u21 tournaments etc but a full blown senior one is pretty unnecessary. Always reminds me of Marc Vivien Foe as well <_<

its a warmup to test the stadiums and the systems but I guess the no break sucks for the players who have to play in it

They need a pre tournament to check if everything is in place for the WC. Players should enjoy it as they are playing for their national country which they should all know is a huge honour.

As for rest, they should be free for a month after the tournament which is more than enough.

I just want to see Brazil and spain play. This is a mighty spanish side, they made me look like a genius when i picke dthem to win the euros way before the tournament started. Brazil may not have the manager but they do have the weapons, natural ball skill and speed to dismantle spain.

Italy have a great manager but when i look at this team it is so flawed and lacks talent. Just another example how far football talent world wide has fallen.

It has fallen in argentina. Apart from a few supers parks up front they are off the pace. Just compare the talent argentina have now compared to 1998-2000.
I would say apart from brazil and spain talent everywhere is just a joke.

I do not rate Brazil at all. This Brazil team is easily the worst in my lifetime.
