Edmílson has picked up a tear in his left thigh which will keep the Brazilian out for 2 weeks during the Copa del Rey match at Sevilla on Wednesday night.

Edmílson had to be replaced at the 75th minute at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán after landing awkwardly whilst challenging for the ball.

Edmílson only returned to the Barcelona team just over a week ago against Alcoyano on the 2nd January after he spent 6 months out with a serious knee injury.

This means Frank Rijkaard will be limited to just one defensive midfielder in the shape of Rafa Márquez after Yaya Touré left for Ghana to take part in the African Cup of Nations with the Ivory Coast and Marc Crosas is expected to join Olympique Lyon on loan for the rest of the season.
