Piqué to sign new contract

Gerard Piqué is all set to sign a new contract which would keep him with the club until 2014.

"Pique will be next to renew his contract because he deserves it. Today, Gerard is one of the best central defenders in the world," said club president Joan Laporta.

According to Dario Sport, he is set to receive a pay rise and his release clause set to increase from €50 million to €150 million.
