Barcelona vs. Celta Vigo

The second half of the season starts on Sunday night at home to Celta Vigo. After thier poor preformance away at Real Betis midweek, the team are looking to try and give the home faithful a preformance to savour against struggling Celta.

However, the team will have to try and do this without the injured Lilan Thuram and Sylvinho and the suspended Rafael Marquez, the man who scored the equaliser against the midweek game against Betis.

Celta are also having a difficult time, having not recorded a victory in 9 games in the league, and will be looking to end that run away at the Camp Nou.

Thier last 3 games have seen them crash to defeats away at Getafe (1-0), at home to Atletico Madrid (1-3) and away to relegation battlers Real Betis (1-0). Their last victory came against Deportivo la Coruña in la Courña in mid November.

Celta currently sit in 14 place, some 18 points behind Barcelona.

The last time these two sides met was in the first week of La Liga. In an epic game, Celta went ahead on 42 minutes throught Fernando Biano only for the now injured Samuel Eto'o to put Barça back on level terms on 56 minutes. Barcelona then went ahead after a majestic Andres Iniesta run ended up with Messi cooly putting the ball past Pinto in the Celta goal. Celta, however, came back into the game and equalised through Gustavo Lopez on 65 minutes.

With the game heading for a draw, substitute Eidur Gudjohnsen produced a breathtaking goal to give Barça all 3 points
