Barcelona, with a 2-0 win over Racing at the Camp Nou, have gone three points clear at the top of the La Liga table on Sunday thanks to a wonderful freekick by Ronaldinho followed by a Deco freekick met my Ronaldinho's head. The first goal came 6 minutes into the 2nd half.

The free-kick was struck perfectly by the number 10 and beat the Racing wall and goalkeeper. Fifteen minutes later a Deco free-kick was headed home by Ronaldinho.

Barça's 1st shot on goal came after 20 minutes as Racing defended well. The shot was from a Ronaldinho free-kick which found its way around the Racing wall and to Racing keeper Calatayud, who could only divert it Andres Iniesta but recoverd just in time to stop it from going in.

Juliano Belletti committed a foul on Luanjo Exposito five minutes afterwards. Both players were jumping for the ball when the Racing striker went down and the referee awarded a penalty. It was taken by Ezekiel Garay and was well struck. Victor Valdes came up big for the Catalan giants as he dived to his right to palm the ball away amid speculation that he was off his line.

That incident must have brought the Blaugrana to life as Deco hit a powerful shot that was saved soon after. He then sent a sublime flick over the defence onto the path of Saviola and Ronaldinho barely missed the tap in from the resulting pass.

Iniesta was also very active and had 2 chances before half-time. He flicked the ball over Calatayud only to be denied by recovering defenders, and then had an injury time shot deflect off the post following exquisite play by Ronaldinho and Xavi.

Racing we're ineffective as an attacking force and after the break, the one way traffic continued in favour of the home team. Ronaldinho came inside and dipped one just over the top before he solicited a foul from Antonio Gonzalez. From the free-kick, he scored the opening goal.

Racing came close to making it even when Lionel Scaloni crossed towards Juanjo but Victor Valdes was there to pick the ball out of the air. Barça then replied as Deco slipped in Iniesta, who clipped the ball wide when he really should have scored.

When Deco put in a wicked cross from the flank (free-kick) and Ronaldinho got there first to double the lead, there was no way back for Racing.

Lionel Messi made his return to the squad and looked his lively self as he worked one-twos with his team mates and was a general nuisance to the opposition defense but It was fellow sub Ludovic Giuly who managed to waltz through the defense and create a one-on-one situation, but the leg of Calatayud stopped his effort.

Ronaldinho then danced down the left side of the box and shot past the goalkeeper, only to see the ball hit the upright and fly across the goal and away. He also set up Giuly in the dying seconds of the action.

With the goal gaping, the Frenchman headed over, obviously due to his lack of height.

The win puts Barca on 46 points, three clear of Sevilla, and five ahead of Arch rivals Real Madrid.
