After last weekend's disastrous 2-0 reverse away at Villarreal, Barça will be looking to get their title challenge back on track at the Camp Nou against struggler's Levante.

After a week of visiting pyramids and players talking about how no more mistakes were possible, Frank Rijkaard's side find themselves with only a 1 point advantage at the top of the Primera División but could very possibly be 2 points behind second placed Sevilla by the time the game against Levante kicks off.

One man who won't be having any say in this match is Santiago Ezquerro, the Basque forward finds himself dropped from the squad, or as the club puts it, out of the squad for "technical reasons". Rafael Márquez is back in the squad after missing the defeat to Villarreal. He played against Al-Ahly during the midweek for a full half and came away unscathed.

The Brazilian trio of Juliano Belletti, Thiago Motta and José Edmilson all miss out as they are all injured.

Previous encounters
Barça have found Levante a very difficult opponent in recent games.

At the start of December last year, the side travelled to Valencia and could only take a point from their hosts after Levante defender Alvaro scored a 77th minute equaliser to cancel out Deco's opening goal in the 41st minute.

Last season, the clubs did not face each other as Levante were in the second division, but in the season before that, Barcelona again travelled to Valencia to take on Levante and came away with a historical draw.

That draw secured Barcelona their first ever league title since 1999.

In Levante's last visit to the Camp Nou, in 2004, they came close to snatching a point from the Camp Nou but a very late Samuel Eto'o effort saved Barça and made the scores 2-1 to the eventual champions.
