The Copa Catalunya kicks-off this Thursday night, with Barça taking on newly relegated Catalan neighbours Gimnástic de Tarragona at the Nou Estadi for a place in the final.

Barça reached the final of this tournament last season but lost out to Espanyol.

With several players missing due to the international fixtures, Frank Rijkaard has called up a large number of Barcelona B players.

One of those B-team players called up is Giovani Dos Santos, the Mexican star expected to become part of the first team next season.

However, another highly rated youngster, Serbian-Catalan striker Bojan Krkic, is not in the squad as he is on international duty with the Spanish under-21's.

Alongside the B-team players are Victor Valdés, again not picked by Spain, Albert Jorquera, Oleguer, Juliano Belletti, Sylvinho, Motta, Ezquerro and Giuly.

The match on Thursday night is the semi-final of the tournament held between Catalan clubs. The tournament is usually dominated by Barça and city rivals Espanyol. As well as Gimnástic, clubs such as UE Llieda and Terrassa FC from the Spanish lower leagues also take part.

As well as Barça and Gimnástic, the other semi-finalists in the tournament this season are Espanyol and UE Llieda. They take on each other on Thursday night as well.

Gimnástic were relegated from the Primera División last weekend and will be looking to salvage some pride after a terrible season in the top flight and what better chance for Paco Flores' side to do so than against Barça.
