FC Barcelona have said that Éric Abidal will have a medical on Friday prior to finalising his move to the club on Friday. Abidal will cost the club around €15 million if rumours are to be believed.

Should his medical prove to be fine, Abidal will be presented to the fans and media at the Camp Nou on Friday.

Speaking to Barça TV, Abidal said: "the negotiations have been long but now it's done and I'm very happy to play for Barcelona."

Abidal will sign a 4 year deal with the club and will become the 3rd player to join the club in the close season. He will replace Giovanni van Bronckhorst, who left the club this week to join his hometown club Feyenoord.
