Crosas given permission to take Lyon medical

Crosas given permission to take Lyon medical
Barcelona have given Marc Crosas permission to travel to Lyon in order to complete a medical before finalising his move to French champions Olympique Lyon on loan until the end of the season.

Crosas, promoted to the Barcelona first team from Barça B at the start of the season, has struggled to get any playing time this season.

The player will move to Lyon on loan until the end of the season before returning to the club in the summer after Barça refused to include the option for Lyon to sign Crosas on a permanent deal.

It was expected that Crosas would move to Real Sociedad on loan after the Basque club's new president Iñaki Badiola promised to sign him on loan as part of his election campaign.

"I have talked to Éric Abidal and he told me that it [Lyon] was a very good place to go. Thierry Henry also told me that it would be a good choice," said Crosas.

"Other players like Puyol, Xavi and my cousin Albert Jorquera said that I should try it."

Crosas will not be able to play for Lyon in the UEFA Champions League as he is cup tied after he appeared for Barça in their final group match against VfB Stuttgart.
