Dinamo Zagreb have told club president Joan Laporta that he can forget about having any negotiations with their midfielder Luka Modrić when he travels to the UEFA Congress in Zagreb later this month.

"Mr Laporta does not need to travel to Zagreb next week if he is planning to talk to Modrić," said Zoran Mamic, Dinamo's sporting director.

"When it comes to the UEFA Congress, we [Dinamo] will be in Turkey, so they [Barcelona] will not find anyone to talk to," added Dinamo vice-president Zdravko Mamic.

Modrić was pictured last week posing with a Barcelona shirt with his name printed on it by Catalan daily El Mundo Deportivo and talk of his arrival at Barça has been rife since.

Modrić, 22, is highly thought of after some fine performances for both club and country and was a key part of the Croatian team which beat England at Wembley last November. Chelsea, Manchester City and Tottenham have all shown interest in Modrić and it did look that he would be moving to England at the start of January but nothing materialised.
