The Spanish football federation (RFEF) in their wisdom have have decided to fine Samuel Eto'o €12,000 for his famous outburst against Real Madrid during the title celebrations of 2005.

Whilst celebrating Barça's first league title for 6 years, Eto'o picked up a microphone and sang "Madrid, cabrón, saluda al campeón [Madrid, you b******s, salute the champions]," to a packed Camp Nou crowd (watch the video to your right).

Eto'o later apologised for his actions but hasn't stopped the federation fining him some two after the incident happened.

What is shocking about the fine is that it is some €3,000 more than what Real Zaragoza were fined the season after their fans racially abused Eto'o.

Celtic doubt
Meanwhile, Eto'o is still a doubt for the midweek Champions League match against Celtic in Glasgow.

The striker returned from the Africa Cup of Nations with a thigh strain and was left out of the squad for the weekend win against Zaragoza in order to undergo some treatment.

"There is no muscular injury and the player will have three days of specialist treatment to be ready for the Champions League game against Celtic," a Barcelona medical statement read.
