Zizinho, father of Giovani dos Santos, has admitted that English Premier League side Manchester City are interested in signing the 17 year old Mexican prodigy.

"There is interest from Manchester City," Zizinho told Mexican newspaper El Universal.

"However, I cannot give more information now as Giovani's agent [Pini Zahavi] is the one in charge of all this, it's him who is dealing with negotiations.

"I can't say for sure if Giovani will go to another team. There are still games to play in La Liga and while there are he's only thinking about Barcelona.

"We don't want to get ahead of ourselves, there is interest but first he has to concentrate on Barcelona."

Giovani has been in talks with Barça all season about a contract extension but his wage demands have meant no deal has been able to be agreed.

After a having a great pre-season, in which he was top goalscorer scorer, Giovani's form has dropped off dramatically. He has managed only one competitive goal all season, against VfB Stuttgart in the final group game in the UEFA Champions League,
