Barça are officially out of the running for the Primera División crown after their 2-0 defeat to Deportivo al Coruña coupled with defending champions Real Madrid's 3-0 victory this evening over Athletic Club.

Madrid can now seal the title next weekend with a win away to Osasuna, a result which means Barça will have to give Real a guard of honour before El Clásico at the Santiago Bernabéu on Wednesday 7th May.

And Barça's season will effectively come to an end on Tuesday night if they fail to progress to the UEFA Champions League final in Moscow by failing to get a victory or a score draw away to Manchester United in their UEFA Champions League semi-final second leg at Old Trafford.

Barça have not won a single trophy since they beat city rivals Espanyol over two legs in the 2006 Supercopa de España.
