Club president Joan Laporta has lost the vote of confidence bought against him by club member Oriol Giralt but has not lost it by a large enough majority to remove him from power.

33.15% (37,294) of total club members eligible to vote turned up to the Camp Nou to vote yes (to remove Laporta) or no (to keep Laporta in power).

The yes camp needed 2/3 (66.66%) of the turnout to vote yes to have Laporta removed from power, however, they only managed 60.60%. Meanwhile, Laporta received the support of 37.75% of those who turned up to vote. It was made clear that the majority of those who turned up that Laporta is no longer wanted and it now remains to be seen if Laporta stays on in power or bows down to the apparent will of the majority of the clubs supporters and stand down.
